Grand Strand Health’s Maternity Center was recently recognized by the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program as a Gold Safe Sleep Champion for their commitment to best practices and education on safe sleep for infants.

“Grand Strand Medical Center is dedicated to providing support and education to families across our community to ensure parents and colleagues understand and practice the ABC’s of safe sleep,” says Dr. Anthony Caeton, Neonatologist and Medical Director of the Level II Neonatal Special Care Nursery at Grand Strand Medical Center.  “Our entire team is honored to earn the Gold Safe Sleep Award, and we are committed to safe sleep excellence.”

Knowing the ABC’s of infant safe sleep is so important. Babies sleep safest when they are:
A - Alone
B - On the Back
C - In a Crib

The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program was created by Cribs for Kids®, the only national infant safe sleep organization. As a Nationally Certified Safe Sleep Hospital, Grand Strand Medical Center is recognized for following the safe sleep guidelines recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and for providing training programs to healthcare team members, new parents and family caregivers.
