Myrtle Beach, SC (September 22, 2016) – Grand Strand Health is hosting an Open House for their new freestanding emergency room, North Strand ER, on Saturday, September 24 from 8 to 11 am. The event will be held at the facility on 806 Highway 17 South, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582. The Open House is free and open to the public. There will be staff meet and greets, facility tours, health information, free blood pressure checks, healthy snacks and from 10-11am appearances from Elsa and Spiderman who will give out free glitter tattoos. The North Myrtle Beach Police Department, North Myrtle Beach Fire Department and North Myrtle Beach Rescue Squad will also have safety information and tours of their rescue vehicles.

North Strand ER will open in the month of October 2016. The 10-bed, 10,820 square foot facility will be a full-service emergency room licensed by the State of South Carolina. The ER gives North Myrtle Beach residents and visitors a place to be seen and treated 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The new North Strand ER will be staffed by a team of board-certified emergency physicians, as well as specially-trained nurses and staff. This facility will employ an additional 39 staff members to the Grand Strand Health system.
