Myrtle Beach, SC – As Hurricane Dorian begins to move towards the South Carolina coastline, Grand Strand Health is implementing additional safety precautions for patients, visitors and staff.

Grand Strand’s physician practices will be closed and elective surgeries and procedures at the hospital will be postponed through Thursday, September 5.

Effective at 9:30 pm on Wednesday, September 4, all patients and visitors should enter through the ER entrance only.

For the safety of visitors, we will stop visitation at 7 am Thursday, September 5 and resume visitation after the storm passes the morning of Friday, September 6.

“Our goal is to keep everyone safe and well throughout the peak impact of this storm,” said CEO Mark Sims. “Rest easy and stay safe during the storm. We believe in caring for our patients like family. Know that your loved ones will be in good hands until the storm passes and you can once again visit safely.”

We will provide safety tips and updates throughout this weather event via our Facebook page.
