Myrtle Beach, SC – Grand Strand Health will sponsor seminars in January about managing arthritis, common skin problems and thyroid disorders. Events to enroll in health care coverage for 2016, an American Red Cross blood drive and free foot screenings will also be offered. All events are held at HealthFinders inside Coastal Grand Mall, beside Dillard’s.

Need health insurance? Two dates will be offered to help you get enrolled. On Thursday, January 7 and Tuesday, January 12 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm licensed health insurance experts will be available to answer your questions, determine if you are eligible for financial assistance and help you sign up! On Thursday, January 14 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm, Rheumatologist Stephen Gelfand, MD, with Grand Strand Senior Care, will present Managing Arthritis. He will discuss the symptoms, diagnosis and medical management of common types of arthritis.

Dermatologist and Internal Medicine Physician Vinod Nambudiri, MD, with Grand Strand Primary Care, will speak about Common Skin Problems on Wednesday, January 20 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. Dr. Nambudiri will discuss the signs, symptoms, prevention and treatments of commonly diagnosed skin conditions.

Give the gift of life! On Thursday, January 21 from 11:00am – 7:00pm an American Red Cross blood drive will be held. Blood donations help millions of patients in need.

Endocrinologist Javaid Wani, MD, PhD, with Strand Endocrinology & Osteoporosis Center, will present Thyroid Disorders: Facts & Myths on Monday, January 25 from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. He will discuss functions of the thyroid gland, problems that can arise and symptoms of thyroid conditions along with symptoms that are incorrectly attributed to the thyroid.

On Wednesday, January 27 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm Free Foot Screenings will be offered. Scott Hamilton, DPM, and Scott Werter, DPM, with Coastal Podiatry Associates, will perform the screenings.
