Grand Strand Medical Center announced that it has been recognized on the 2025 Healthgrades America’s 100 Best Hospitals list, which recognizes the top 2% of hospitals in the country for clinical excellence.
Based exclusively on patient outcomes, the annual designation is reserved for hospitals who have been recognized year over year on Healthgrades’ 250 Best Hospitals list for consistently demonstrating superior performance in providing care for conditions and procedures across multiple specialty lines and areas.
“The quality journey is truly that, a journey. The Grand Strand team works every day to elevate the care we provide to our community,” said Dr. George Helmrich, Chief Medical Officer of Grand Strand Medical Center. “We are judged against others that are on a similar path. So, to stay ahead we have to remain focused on the delivery of the highest quality care.”
To be considered, hospitals must first have evaluations in at least 21 of the 31 Healthgrades procedures and conditions using independent, publicly available Medicare inpatient data from the Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR) file from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Healthgrades then evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for common conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Hospitals that received an America’s 250 Best Hospitals Award consecutively over an extended period of time were further evaluated by their tenure on the list and their current year’s performance to determine Healthgrades’ 100 Best Hospitals list.
In total, 49 HCA healthcare hospitals were recognized as “America’s Best Hospitals” by Healthgrades on the 2025 America’s 250 Best Hospitals list this year.
