Myrtle Beach, SCGrand Strand Health, along with other national, state and community organizations, is leading a massive effort to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making—an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD). As a participating organization, Grand Strand Health is providing information and tools for the public to talk about their wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers and execute written advance directives in accordance with SC state laws.

On Thursday, April 16 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at HealthFinders in Coastal Grand Mall, a Grand Strand Health Case Manager will be available to answer questions about advanced healthcare directives (such as a Healthcare Power of Attorney or Living Will). No appointment is required for these one on one consults.

“As a result of National Healthcare Decisions Day, more people in our community can be expected to have thoughtful conversations about their healthcare decisions and complete reliable advance directives to make their wishes known,” said Julie Kopnicky, Marketing and Public Relations Director. “Fewer families and healthcare providers will have to struggle with making difficult healthcare decisions and be able to honor the patient’s documented wishes when the time comes to do so.”
