Andrew Mangano, DO, Program Director
Dr. Mangano moved to Myrtle Beach to work at Grand Strand In 2013. He played a key role in developing the internal medicine program and served as core faculty until accepting the internal medicine associate program director position in February 2017. Dr. Mangano currently leads academic half-day, quality improvement and inpatient services.
Tracy Stevenson, Program Coordinator
Ms. Stevenson has been at Grand Strand Medical Center since 2013. She and her husband moved to Myrtle Beach from St. Simons Island, Georgia, to enjoy all the great golf and fishing in the area. She also enjoys live music and spending time with her dogs.
David Moccia, DO, Core Faculty
Dr. Moccia completed his internal medicine residency at Grand Strand Medical Center in 2018. He loved it so much he decided to stay on as faculty and get involved with the transitional year and internal medicine residents. Dr. Moccia’s clinical interests are osteopathic manipulative medicine and graduate medical education.
J. Vance Vandergriff, MD, Core Faculty
Dr. Vandergriff is board certified in family medicine and has had a private practice in the area since 2000. For the past several years, he has been actively involved in the outpatient ambulatory care rotation for the transitional year program. Dr. Vandergriff has a passion for providing quality care to his patients while following evidence-based medicine recommendations.
Victor Aguin, MD, MBA, Core Faculty
Dr. Aguin completed his training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit in 2017. He earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Carabobo in 2012 and has authored articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Dr. Aguin has a passion for helping learners develop their clinical reasoning and evidence appraisal skills.
